La Grande Belleza

Hypnotic visuals accompanied by euro trash disco and all-encompassing opera, the transcendent acting performance by Toni Servillo and a plethora of ludicrous characters are each in itself reason enough to see La Grande Belleza by Paolo Sorrentino. Add to this the search for purpose under the ever-urgent notion of time and you get a movie that, beyond its visual splendor, demands self-reflection, humbleness towards others and a certain state of consciousness to the beauty and silence all around.
